When Bongeziwe Mabandla’s soulful track ‘Zama’ first featured in KFC’s Streetwise Family TV advert, it didn’t just complement the visuals — it captured hearts. Now, KFC has taken that love from the screen to the stage.

In a powerful extension of its “Make Room for More” campaign, KFC hosted an intimate live experience titled “Make Room for More with Bongeziwe brought to you by KFC Rewards” on Friday, 30 October at its Ferndale branch on Malibongwe Drive, Johannesburg.

The experience was unlocked through an exclusive KFC Rewards Special Mission. The first 10 KFC Rewards members to order a Streetwise Family 8 with Mega Chips on the KFC App from 11h00 were rewarded with double tickets to the private performance.

Fans were treated to a live rendition of ‘Zama’, bringing the advert’s soundtrack to life in an unforgettable way. The evening was made even more special with a surprise appearance by acclaimed South African actor S’dumo Mtshali.

Staying true to the Streetwise Family spirit, the event culminated with everyone sharing a meal around one table turning the campaign’s message of togetherness into a lived, shared experience.

Commenting on the campaign, KFC Africa CMO Hloni Mohope said: “In South Africa, family isn’t just who you’re born into. It’s who you make room for. And sometimes, all it takes is one more seat at the table.”

What started as a TV commercial moment has now become a celebration of music, community and the simple power of making room for more.
